CONNECT
Food is always important, even if we're not physically together. It would be nice to suggest to your guests that during the call, they have some cookies or something to eat "together."

DISCUSS
For the discussion time, we recommend using our new platform AlphaNow, designed to make Alpha Online as easy and secure as possible.
Other platforms may also be useful, but please note that Alpha does not take responsibility for their operation. They are common-use platforms that can be helpful for conducting an Alpha Online.
some things to keep in mind:
HOSPITALITY
- Even though small groups meet online, churches can still place a strong emphasis on hospitality.
- Participate from the beginning: Make sure the host and helper are connected from the start of the session—greeting and welcoming everyone. Avoid silences and keep the group's energy high.
- Use the Chat: Encourage hosts, helpers, and participants to chat while watching the video, as well as during the discussion time.
- Always be kind: watch your expressions, remember that participants are watching how you react to comments, be careful.
Quality discussion
- Ask participants to join with video, not just audio.
- Ask them to try to be in a quiet and calm place.
- Ask all participants to keep their microphones muted when not speaking to ensure the conversation is smooth and orderly.
- Ask participants not to use green screens or virtual backgrounds so everything looks more natural.
LOGISTICS
- Explain how the call will work and what the session's agenda will be.
- Internet Connection: Ensure you have a good internet connection, preferably wired if possible.
- Keep it brief and engaging: Many churches have found that after an hour, guests lose interest. That's why we recommend keeping each session to no more than 1 hour.
- Send more messages: In a digital environment, more communication than usual is needed, so write to them.
Host Preparation
- Get Ready: Hosting online is very different from doing it in person. Make sure your team has the video session ready and everyone knows which online platform your church will use.
- Keep in mind: Churches have found that people are much more susceptible and sensitive online than in person. Prepare your team for that.
